Michael Hooker
Pastor Michael comes to first CRC from Chicago.  Growing up in Chicago, he began leading worship as a singer and guitarist during chapels in high school & church.
 
  He began his college years studying at I.I.T. as an Architecture major, then transferred to UIC to earn a B.A. in Music.  While working in industrial sales and management, Michael felt God calling him into ministry.  He  received his M.Div. from Western Theological Seminary in 2016.  During seminary, Michael served at Faith Church as interim pastor and after graduation, was ordained in the RCA  as a Pastor of Community Engagement.  

Michael's family includes his wife , Alida, and two sons- Simon and Berend.
 
In his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, biking and creating home brewed beers and ciders.
